I had never known that pollack soup existed in Korea before, and I couldn’t imagine what it tasted like. There are many restaurants selling pollack, but this one is a classic and old one! One of the most anticipated delicacies this time~
This pollack fish soup restaurant located between the entrance of City Hall and B Road has been open since 1986! Even on a cold day with light snow, there is still an endless stream of people at the door. Although there are many people in line, the table turnover rate is very fast , I went in in less than ten minutes.
It opens at 7:00 in the morning, perfect for breakfast
As soon as you enter the door, you can see this hot pot of pollack soup cooking on the stove. It's so warm.
The inside is just an ordinary small restaurant, clean, but a little crowded.
The store only sells pollack soup. When you see Azuma, you can compare the quantities directly, so you don’t have to worry about ordering. (And there is a WIFI password on the wall)
There is a special writing on the wall saying that the ingredients are very precious and should not be wasted (not responsible for the translation🤣)
There are ice water, side dishes, and salted dried shrimps for seasoning on the table
The Azhu moms in the store are very quick and neat in their preparation!
After the quick help of Azhu’s mothers, all the meals were served in no time. A set meal (9500 KRW) consists of a bowl of rice, a bowl of pollack soup, scallion oil, kimchi and an empty plate for side dishes.
Side dishes include leeks, kimchi, and pickled melons, all of which have strong flavors. Use serving chopsticks to pick them up and then cover them. They are free, so don’t waste them~
The scallion oil has a flavor similar to that found in BBQ restaurants and Japanese yakiniku. It goes well with rice and goes well with the light pollack soup. You can also add both rice and scallion oil to the soup to make it a soup with rice.
Pollack soup~It was very hot when it first came!! It was great👍🏻 It tasted quite like tofu and egg drop soup, but it had an extra umami flavor like that of flat fish. The seasoning is light in Korean cuisine, so it was delicious. Very comfortable and suitable for breakfast
The salted shrimp used for seasoning on the side is very salty. You can adjust the saltiness by yourself.
After eating, more and more leeks and salty dried shrimps were added🤣
There is a toilet on the second floor, which is surprisingly big and clean compared to the first floor. I would like to commemorate this🤣
Overall, it tastes healthy and nourishing. It is very suitable for breakfast in the morning when you have not yet had an appetite, especially in winter when you are taking care of your elders. After eating it, your whole body will feel warm and comfortable. It is a very unique meal. Highly recommended~
