Cheese fondue is also one of the important things to do in Switzerland. I found this one on the Internet and said it is more in line with Taiwanese tastes. I made a reservation online very early. Looking forward to it~

Before departure, a friend kept scaring me and told me not to have too much expectations for the cheese hot pot, especially because the fire underneath was very small and would not be hot at all. It was also heavy in salt and oil, which was completely different from the small hot pot in Taiwan. The food tasted terrible, and it hurt me. I went in with expectations and fear of being hurt.

The cheese fondue itself comes with croutons and potatoes, and comes in two flavors: original and tomato. For the original flavor, you can choose a flavor with just one kind of cheese (without adding wine) or a half-and-half mixture of two kinds of cheese (with white wine and cherry brandy added), but the price is per person, so it is recommended to order different flavors to share.

The space in the store is not big, and it has a cute retro country style. It will be a bit crowded when it is full, and there is no air conditioning in the store. It will be a bit hot during lunch in the summer.

Rosé wine (5.7 CHF)

It tastes smooth and slightly acidic, which goes well with the rich cheese, but it is completely room temperature, and it will taste better if it is slightly chilled. The water next to it is tap water, which is free.

beer (5.5 CHF)

Beer was not on the menu. I asked the clerk and found out that I could order beer. The beer here is draft beer and it tastes very refreshing (compared to pink wine, I think beer goes better with it!!)

There are salt, pepper, and chili powder on the table. You can season it yourself. I think pepper and chili powder are very important seasonings, especially when the milky taste is very strong at the end of the meal and it starts to taste greasy. Add some pepper and chili powder. a little more balanced

The long fork on the table is used to dip food into cheese. Many souvenir shops in Switzerland sell this kind of fork.

Potatoes are included in the set meal. This potato is different from the ones in Taiwan. It is a smaller type. The store has steamed it thoroughly. It tastes very dense and tender. When eaten with cheese, it will melt directly. It’s a perfect match!

Croutons are also included with the set meal. The portion is so huge that it is impossible for one person to finish it all. Because the bread has a lot of space, you can get a thick dollop of cheese sauce when you dip it in the cheese, but in comparison, I still prefer potatoes.

This plate is an extra, including baby mais (2.9 CHF), canned pears and pineapple &pears (5.9 CHF). The baby corn is pickled and very salty! I don’t recommend it, but I highly recommend everyone to order some refreshing fruit. I originally wanted to use it to dip into cheese, but in the end I ate it all and turned it into a fruit to relieve tiredness 😂

I ordered a pot of fondue fribourgeoise half& half (30.8 CHF) and a pot of tomato-flavored fondue valaisanne (33.8 CHF). Both pots have alcohol added, but the original flavor is stronger because white wine and cherries are added. Vodka (which is not strong enough for children), both pots have a strong taste. In addition to the strong wine taste, the cheese milk taste, and the saltiness, I think the taste is very acceptable. It tastes like a fat pleasure🤣 After eating it for a long time, I felt a little helpless~ But I didn't encounter any problems when it wasn't hot. The fire here was quite strong, and the cheese hotpot was bubbling all the time. It was very hot until the end of the meal! It was great~

It looks so healing~~Comparing the two pots, I prefer the taste of Huan Tomato, the alcohol concentration is lower, and it has a little more umami flavor of tomatoes.

At the end of the meal, I was too tired and couldn't continue eating, so I kept cooking the cheese until it almost dried up and turned into a layer of crispy baked cheese. I think this is super delicious, haha

After eating it, I felt that it was not as unpalatable as my friend said. Instead, I thought it tasted pretty good, but it was easy to get tired of it. After thinking about it later, I felt that ordering Coke was the right choice🤣Haha, but it’s really different from the Taiwanese hotpot. It's a completely different concept~ Don't be misled by "hot pot". This is really a very classic Swiss limited-edition dish. No matter what others say, you must find a cheese hotpot to experience it for yourself!
