Matsuya is somewhat similar to Yoshinoya. It is a famous chain of affordable beef donburi stores in Japan, and many of them are open 24 hours a day. You can get it anytime you are hungry, which is very convenient.
It was around 7pm and there was no one around.
There are only seats at the bar inside the store.
When ordering food, you can also click on the machine to get meal coupons. There are Chinese options, which is very clear.
Just get the meal ticket and give it to the clerk. Try the famous beef donburi and pork donburi.
There are many kinds of condiments on the table, as well as ice water.
Grilled Pork Rice Bowl with Green Onions and Salt (Small) Braised Pork Rice Bowl with Salt and Onion (¥560)
I was so happy to see the green onion salt, but I was surprised when I ate it. It was very sour!! It was different from the green onion salt in Taiwan. There was a lot of lemon juice in it, which kind of took away from the roast pork rice itself. It tastes bad, but the miso soup on the side is delicious (it contains tofu skin and kelp)
Roast beef rice bowl (normal) Beef grilled rice bowl + pork gravy bowl (¥750)
The side dishes of the beef bowl are very rich, including chopped green onions, kimchi, soft-boiled eggs, and shredded seaweed. The texture and taste are very layered. It is worthy of being the main product. It is more delicious than the pork rice bowl. The additional pork miso soup is better than the ordinary miso soup. Added lotus root and pork slices, the taste is the same
After eating, I feel that Matsuya is just a boring place, but the environment is clean and there are many choices. If you are in Japan and don’t know what to eat (does this happen🤣?), you can come and eat.
