Speaking of must-eats in Singapore, I would definitely say Ya Kun is the first place🥇 It really has a taste and combination that you can’t find anywhere else. But Ya Kun is so famous, it is definitely a must-eat for tourists~

Ya Kun has many branches in Singapore, this time I went to the branch in Parkway Parade department store

There are so many people! long queue

There are also some cakes and desserts sold at the counter

They also sell their signature Ya Kun kaya sauce, and there are different flavors. Today I saw coconut and peanut flavors. A bottle costs SGD 6.3, which is very suitable to take home as a gift to relatives and friends.

There are various combinations of set meals. I tried laksa noodles a long time ago, but the store clerk said they no longer sell them (so sad 💔 I think their laksa noodles are quite delicious). Today I ordered the most classic set meal A, which has four in total. A piece of kaya toast, two soft-boiled eggs, and a drink. In fact, Ya Kun is more similar to the local breakfast, so there are not many choices, and the food is quite simple but nutritious.

All the clerks are very busy, one person orders and checks out, the other makes all the drinks, another makes toast, and one makes eggs...the hands never stop, making people afraid to ask questions XD

The dining environment in the store is quite simple, but because there are many customers and the waiter is very busy, the table is a bit dirty. I wanted to ask him to bring a piece of toilet paper to wipe the table. When the clerk gave it to me, he reminded me, "Everyone should share it."🤣 Cute enough

After ordering the meal, you just hold the details and wait for the number to pick up the meal. Drinks and food are served at different speeds

There is a seasoning area here, with salt and soy sauce, you can season your own soft-boiled eggs

My package A is here ($5.6)

I chose hot milk tea as a drink. It’s a small cup but the tea taste is very strong. I feel that the caffeine content is quite high and it’s also very sweet. I think it’s delicious😆

(The one in the middle is the hot barley water ordered by a friend. It is also sweet and healthy, but I still think it goes well with hot milk tea or coffee)

The long-awaited kaya toast~

I can’t tell what the taste of kaya sauce is, but it has a taste of coconut sugar and granulated sugar. I read that there are pandan leaves on the Internet, but I can’t taste it. Anyway, it’s quite a special sweetness🤣

The toast is very crispy, a bit close to the crispness of biscuits, with cream cubes and classic kaya sauce, it is really delicious!

And this must be eaten on the spot, the toast will be soft and the cream will melt when you take it back, it will become very greasy

Two half-boiled eggs, very raw, very similar to the hot spring eggs on top of donburi, and there is no other degree of doneness to choose from. If you don't dare to eat raw eggs, you may want to skip it. If you dare to eat, add some soy sauce and pepper. In fact, It’s quite delicious, and I feel so healthy after eating it🤣

I also recommend their own coffee powder, which has the aroma of charcoal, very thick and delicious👍🏻I really think you must try Yakun when you come to Singapore. It is food that has never been eaten in Taiwan, and it is very special. There is another restaurant that is very similar.Toast Box(click here to read the article)It’s also very delicious. You can also go and eat it.
