Today we are going to Jungfraujoch, which is listed as a World Heritage Site and the Top of Europe ~ I have heard about this mountain since I was a child, and I am looking forward to it! Since there are many experts on the Internet who have compiled complete climbing guides, this time I will share the tickets and routes I bought myself, and I will briefly explain the rest, mainly sharing the restaurants inside (because I am a foodie🤤)

The route we took this time was:

Grindelwald Terminal

Take the cable car (about 15 minutes)

Arrive at Eigergletscher station

Take the Jungfrau red train (about 25 minutes)

Arrive at Jungfraujoch Observation Deck (Jungfraujoch)

Use Swiss Travel Pass to buy cable cars and tickets at a 25% discount. We added an additional priority lane for CHF 5 (not required). The total is 170.6 CHF per person, which is equivalent to NT$6,150. It is very expensive ~ There is a set of tickets for sale on the official website It goes from Interlaken ost to Jungfraujoch, but if you have a Swiss Travel Pass, the section from Interlaken ost to Grindelwald terminal is actually free. Please pay attention when buying tickets.

grindelwald terminal

From here, you can choose to take a cable car or a train to the Eiger Glacier Station (eigergletscher). Most people will choose the cable car because it is faster to arrive (cable car 15 minutes / train 25 minutes), plus most people in Switzerland There are less opportunities to take trains and cable cars. The most important thing is that the scenery seen from the air along the way is really amazing.

If you purchase tickets online first, you can directly scan the QR CODE to enter.

The scenery at the beginning was still at the cute little village in the Grindelwald Valley.

Although the ascent speed is very slow, the altitude increases quickly and the temperature drops quickly. You can slowly add clothes in the cable car.

It turned into a grassland in an instant

In a few minutes, there will be snow and gravel roads.

When we arrived at the Eiger glacier station (eigergletscher), the altitude had already reached 2320m, which is very high.

There is an outdoor observation deck at this stop. The scenery is great. Many people will stop here and take photos.

This is a great place to play with aerial photography. The scenery from a distance is very vast. Many places in Switzerland are open. It is highly recommended.

(Aerial camera perspective) When you zoom out, you feel how insignificant human beings are. The cable car you just took suddenly turns into a few small black dots on the left side of the screen.

(Aerial camera perspective) Fallboden lake, the water is so green and beautiful

There is also a stand-up card for the Korean drama Love Crash Landing 😍

The extra 5 Swiss francs gives you priority access. Seeing the huge queue, I think it’s well worth the money XD

This is the only train from Eigergletscher Station to Jungfraujoch. The whole journey takes about 25 minutes. There will be a 5-10 minute break at Eismeer Station for everyone to watch the Aletsch Glacier and take photos.

Finally arrived~

The three famous peaks of the Alps: Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau

As soon as you enter the entrance (0th floor), there is a coffee shop COFFEE BAR, which sells simple meals such as sandwiches and bread. The prices are similar to those on the street. I don’t think it is necessary to buy them from the ground, especially because the scenery outside the window here is spectacular. It's great to sit here, order a meal and enjoy it slowly!

There's a lot of snow outside

Floor introduction, you enter on the 0th floor, there are toilets on B1, and there is food on every other floor.

Start entering the exhibition tunnel. There are all kinds of photos, statues, handicrafts, ice sculptures, check-in attractions...etc., it's very much like a museum.

In memory of Guyer-Zeller, the developer of the Train to Jungfraujoch

Ice sculpture area

Various ice sculptures, because they are all made of ice, the temperature is very low, and the ground is quite slippery, so be careful not to fall.

This Scrat from Iceborne Adventures is super popular and very funny. Many people are rushing to take pictures. It’s quite creative.

Sphinx outdoor viewing deck

It only takes a few seconds to take the elevator to the Sphinx Observation Deck. Soon, the Sphinx outdoor observation deck is 3571 meters above sea level, which is the highest observation deck. Due to the rapidly changing weather on the mountain, it was still sunny at the beginning. From indoors As soon as I came out, I felt a strong wind, and everyone packed up tightly (the ground temperature in June is about 26-28 degrees, but it is still very cold here, so you must wear a hat)

A vast expanse of white

Plateau outdoor viewing deck

The view of the Jungfraujoch from here is spectacular (unfortunately I didn’t take a photo of it), and it’s also a beautiful angle for taking photos.

The most famous Swiss flag on the Plateau observation deck, look how red it is, you have to queue up to take pictures XD

After visiting the observation deck, you can also go to the Lindt chocolate store. The prices here are about the same as the shops on the street. You won’t hear the clerk say that there are flavors limited to the mountain.

Now comes the meal time that I’m most looking forward toSelf Service Restaurant ALETSCH on the 1st floor

The way of picking up food is very similar to that of IKEA. You can bring your own tray, drinks and snacks, and order the main meal from the staff. It is considered a semi-self-service style. There are quite a lot of food choices. I have seen the introduction on YouTube and I have high praise for the restaurant here. Low, saying it’s expensive and not delicious, which makes me a little worried

I also brought hot and cold drinks in my own cup and went to check out later.

After checking out, you can take your own cutlery and find a seat to eat.

In the sauce buffet area, there are many types of sauces available (more generous than McDonald’s ketchup charge 😂)

Then find your own seat. There will be a sudden influx of people during lunch time. Although there are many seats, you can still come early to avoid crowds. The entire restaurant is surrounded by large windows, and there is a beautiful view of Jungfraujoch outside. However, because the weather was unstable that day, heavy snow would blow from time to time, so we could only take pictures of a vast white patch, but the snow came in waves, and when it dispersed, the snow scene outside was very beautiful. beautiful

The Swiss version of macaroni in our store is one of the specialties of Switzerland. It is different from the macaroni in the United States. The sauce is made of cheese, cream, and potatoes, and it is also sprinkled with onion puff pastry. It tastes a bit like Taiwanese scallion cakes, and there is also some bacon. When mixed with macaroni, it is very satisfying and an unexpected combination.

There is a cup of apple puree on the side, which can be added to eat. It is so special. I have never thought of such a combination, but it is also delicious.

Oh~~I really miss this onion crisp and apple puree, they are really delicious

The fries are long and thin, and they are freshly fried. They are very hot, and the inside has the dense texture of potatoes. They are also very delicious~ I don’t understand how the YouTuber can give a bad review? I think it is very good! ! 👍🏻This is the most amazing meal I had in Switzerland😍

After eating, recycle the tableware yourself and return it to the recycling table

After visiting the Jungfraujoch, I felt that it was very different from what I imagined. The tour guide was very suitable for taking photos, but a bit too commercial. Compared to Zermatt, I preferred the feeling of simply enjoying the scenery and being closer to nature. , but the restaurant inside is really recommended! If you go, don’t bother bringing food, just come to the restaurant to eat!
