✈️Munich Travel Notes*Neuschwanstein Castle + Linderhof Palace + Obermargau Day Tour

KLOOK Neuschwanstein Castle + Linderhof Palace + Oberammergau one-day tour

Recommendation level ★★★★☆ (Linderhof Palace was a little disappointing + three wishes were fulfilled at once but the stop time was too short)

Travel time 11 hours

Price $2284 TWD/person

Today’s itinerary is to go to Schloss Linderhof first

→Go to the small town of Oberammergau

→The last one is Neuschwansteinstraße

We gathered at BUDDY HOTEL at 8:30 in the morning. There was a double-decker bus that day (I don’t know why I was so excited to take the double-decker bus XD)

The tour guide will give everyone a pair of headphones, and you can listen to the tour guide in the car, which is available in German/English/Simplified Chinese/Japanese.

He will automatically play the tour guide based on the car's GPS positioning at certain points. It's very advanced XD

In addition, the tour guide will also introduce it in English.

The scenery along the way is all vast plains and towering snow-capped mountains, which is really refreshing~~

The journey takes about 1.5 hours, which is actually quite fast.

Arrive at Linderhof Palace~

ticket counter

This itinerary does not include tickets for the inside visit. You need to buy them separately. When you are in the car, the tour guide will ask everyone if you want to buy it (you can only swipe your card), so you don’t need to buy it on site.

The forests and lakes surrounding the palace

Schloss Linderhof

The smallest of the three palaces built by King Ludwig II of Bavaria, it was also the only one he actually lived in.

You are not allowed to take pictures in the palace. It feels so cool to think that the king can build his favorite castle in the mountains far away from the hustle and bustle, walk by the lake, enjoy flowers, and listen to operas XD

Except for the palace, other places (such as the front and back gardens, fountains...) are fenced off and cannot be entered. The key point is that even Kong Jin's fountain is covered>

I don’t know if I came at the wrong time. Although it is cold, there is no snow scene in winter, no autumn mood, and no blooming flowers in spring.

There is no splendid or romantic scenery at all. I just feel that the scene is very depressed and super disappointing.

Make up for what it should look like (reposted from Internet picture William Hart)

The photos online look so beautiful! The fountain is also beautiful! Then Ah Nie QQ…

Although I was disappointed, I still calmed down by visiting a souvenir shop.

The souvenir shop is quite nice XD

There is also a small cafe attached

The bread and coffee sold there are not expensive. You can sit down and take a rest.

Continue to the next itinerary: Oberammergau

It takes about 15 minutes to drive from Linderhof Palace.

The tour guide introduced that because of the Black Death epidemic in the 17th century, the residents of the town prayed to God to bless the residents through the epidemic safely, and promised to perform "The Passion of the Christ" every 10 years to express their gratitude, and the performers They are all local residents and have evolved into a traditional culture. From that time to now, this culture has been maintained. The next time will be 2030! I heard that there will be a lot of tourists gathering for the performance that takes place every 10 years. It’s so cool! I'd love to see it if I have the chance.

This small town is famous for its many painted murals on the exterior walls of the buildings. Most of the murals are biblical stories.

The most famous ice cream shop in town, Eiscafé Paradiso

Address: Dorfstraße 4, 82487 Oberammergau

There are many flavors, the price is not expensive (1.6€ per piece), and the queue is very fast.

It tastes like apple pie! So special and delicious~

We ordered three flavors: pistachio, yogurt, and apple pie, and they were all delicious! ! 🍦

The pistachios are open enough, the yogurt is good XD, and it tastes natural and comfortable, but it's also quite sweet.

I only have 20 minutes in this town, which is very little. I can only buy an ice cream and it’s gone. I can’t take a leisurely stroll. It’s actually a pity.

(I think this town is more worthy of spending time visiting than Linderhof Palace XD)

Next we have to go to today’s protagonist, Neuschwanstein Castle~!

The drive takes about 30-40 minutes, and you can see the castle in the distance~

When I saw Neuschwanstein Castle on TV before, I thought it was in a towering mountain, but unexpectedly it was very low! I was really surprised when I first saw it

The tour guide will hand out a map first on the bus. The whole area is very large. In addition to the most famous Neuschwanstein Castle, there are also Hohenschwangau Castle and the King's Museum of Bavaria.

But you can only stay here for 2-3 hours, plus the time to climb the mountain. If you want to visit them all, it’s really a rush.

If you want to visit Neuschwanstein Castle, you need to buy an additional ticket. The tour guide will ask first in the car.

We’ve arrived~ The towering mountains are right next to us. It rained lightly in the morning and the ground is all wet.

There are only two ways to get to Neuschwanstein Castle from where you get off: 1 is to walk, 2 is to take a carriage

It takes 30-40 minutes to walk. There are gentle slopes along the way and there are no stairs. It is just a small mountain climb. In fact, it is very comfortable to walk and enjoy the scenery along the way.

The kitten living in the castle (so cool)

The weather is bad~It’s going to rain heavily

Along the way we will pass Neuschwanstein Castle first, but we first need to go to the suspension bridge at the best shooting point to take pictures, and then walk a little further (about 10 minutes)

The weather was bad and it started to rain. It was also very cold (about 5 degrees). Although my body was not cold, my head and respiratory tract were very cold and I was short of breath. I immediately wanted to stop the carriage XD

I was very touched when I saw the sign, it’s finally almost here!

Bang! ! ! This is the picture (photos taken with so much hard work are more precious🥰)

Neuschwansteinstraße

This was also built by Ludwig II. It is said to be romantic. After listening to an opera "Lohengrin" written by Wagner, he often imagined himself as a knight riding a swan boat in it, and wanted to be in the mountains and forests far away from the hustle and bustle. He built a new castle of his own and named it Swan Castle. It later became the prototype of the most famous Disney castle!

Because of the opera "Lohengrin", there is Neuschwanstein Castle, there is the fairy tale of Disney Castle, and there is the necessary BGM for weddings (you must have heard ithttps://youtu.be/q4-NDbKR170)

These dreamy and romantic existences really have a far-reaching influence and benefit future generations.

But he himself has never lived there, what a pity~

After leaving the suspension bridge, it was still some time before visiting the inside of the castle. As the rain gradually became heavier, I decided to rest in a small coffee shop halfway up the mountain to keep warm and dry my clothes.

When I saw this very special dessert in the photo, the waiter recommended it and said it was delicious, so I ordered one to try.

Ordered the hot chocolate Heiße Schokolade (4.9€)

I have never tasted chocolate that is not chocolate like this. The whole cup is filled with hot milk and only the brown part on top is chocolate.

It should be renamed Hot Milk Sprinkled with Chocolate Powder XD

Dessert recommended by the clerk: Germknodel mit vanillesauce u. mohn (10.9€)

Yeast bread topped with vanilla jam, poppy seeds on the outside and poppy seed jam on the inside

Very special poppy seed sourness, paired with the fermented flavor of yeast bread…

All I can say is that I’m just not used to it😳

After eating, it's almost the scheduled time. Go and check in quickly.

There are tiers of tickets to enter Neuschwanstein Castle, and there are times on each tier, so be sure to arrive on time!

Because he directly scans the machine, he will not be able to enter even if it is just one second late, and there are no remedial measures, no change of echelons, and no refunds. The tour guide emphasized it repeatedly in the car (super German style XD)

After entering, I started climbing the stairs, and finally the time came when I almost couldn’t anymore!

This scenery is really beautiful~

The view of the sky bridge from the castle is also very beautiful, and the sky bridge is so high.

No other photos can be taken inside, so just enjoy it with your eyes! 👀

There are errors in the above, please correct

I’m so tired of writing this 🤣
