Klook Jigokudani Monkey Park + Sukiyaki Day Tour

Recommendation level ★★★★★ (In addition to the long drive, you can climb mountains and see the snow scenery and snow monkeys! It’s great)

Travel time 12 hours

Price $3334 TWD/person

This time I participated in KLOOK's one-day tour of Jigokudani Wild Monkey Park + Sukiyaki from Shinjuku to Nagano

This itinerary is limited to winter. I heard a long time ago that there is a place where you can watch wild monkeys soaking in hot springs. I was looking forward to it before departure.

Depart Shinjuku at 7:45 am, because it's so early, everyone is sleeping, the car is quiet

It took 4.5 hours, from the bustling high-rise buildings to an empty scenery, after a rest stop, finally arrived at the place for lunch at noon! (tired enough)

Lunch is at Shinshu Fruitland

This is a rest stop for many tour groups. There are souvenirs for sale on the first floor. Apple is very famous here, and many souvenirs are related to apples.

apple pie

cider

The second floor is a simple restaurant like a big canteen, which can accommodate many people

Today's lunch is a sukiyaki set meal, which comes with a bowl of rice, an egg, a bowl of soba noodles and an apple

It's a very simple sukiyaki set meal, it's delicious, it's hot and comfortable, only the apples are ordinary (a bit rusty)

After a simple lunch, continue to the destination, and it took about 20-30 minutes

Finally after a long 6 hour drive! At! arrive! up!

It’s touching enough~ What’s touching is not that I can finally see the monkey, but that I finally got out of the car XD My ass is about to rot

After getting off the bus, go to the entrance of Jigokudani Wild Monkey Park. This is only the entrance for climbing. You have to walk 1.6 kilometers (about 30 minutes) to the ticket booth for entering the park.

At the entrance, there are scarves, gloves, fur hats, snow boots, etc., as well as crampons, because the road is full of ice and snow, people who are afraid of slipping can buy them, or they can rent shoes and coats

I wore CAMPER boots that day, and they were super slippery! But I see a bunch of people wearing New balance, Nike... can walk very smoothly, I don’t know if there is something wrong with my walking style

let's go!

The trees on the side of the road are covered with thick snow, and the scenery along the road is super beautiful! Although the air is very cold, I feel very good when I walk ❤️

In March, the snow has already melted a bit. If it was one month earlier, the snow would be thicker and more beautiful.

After walking for almost 30 minutes, when I saw the snowman in Jigokudani Hot Spring, I was almost at the ticket booth for entering the park.

Before departure, many friends asked me "Can people soak", "Can I soak with monkeys?"

It’s really laughing to death😆, it’s not for people at all, monkeys only~~

I got the tickets~Look at the monkeys!

As we approached, there were already monkeys coming to greet us haha

Finally saw the hot spring~

This is the only one in the entire park, and it's super small! Everyone surrounds the hot spring

In the vast snowy landscape surrounded by mountains, there is a pool of hot springs, and there are wild monkeys in it! really special landscape

We were very lucky this day, saw a lot of monkeys, and the whole mountain was climbing around

The monkeys in the park cannot be touched or fed. There are staff inside who will feed them regularly, but basically the monkeys here are completely wild and have not received any training, so it is better to be careful

Completely zero distance, you can see monkeys very close

So close! ! very clear expression

They will also crawl around you, be careful not to hit them

The staff fed the feed, and all the monkeys crazily grabbed food! They will also bark their teeth and crack their mouths to fight, super scary

sad monkey

Ah ~ they are so cool

Soaking in hot springs in the ice and snow, and someone feeds them regularly

Little baby monkey, the little butt is so cute

Everyone will stay at the monkey for 30-40 minutes on average, and there will be a souvenir shop after the end

Sell monkey postcards, clothes, magnets, key rings...

Surprisingly, there is no monkey-shaped biscuit XD

It feels like every scenic spot in Japan has a specially made biscuit or souvenir

There is a coffee shop at the foot of the mountain. It looks good. I wanted to go to it, but I had to give up because of time.

This itinerary allows you to walk, see the beautiful snow scenery, and see the long-awaited monkeys soaking in hot springs! I am very satisfied

The only and biggest problem is that the distance is really~really~too far away!

We set off at 7:45 in the morning and returned to Shinjuku at 8 in the evening. It took us 8-9 hours just to take a ride. Although we were allowed to rest in the middle, it was very short. Fortunately, there was no traffic jam on the return trip. It was really a car ride Sitting until my back hurts!

But it is a very interesting memory. It is not bad to come to Tokyo to eat, drink and see monkeys. It is 3344 NT dollars per person, and it is not very expensive. It is recommended to come once in a lifetime.
