Grilled snails are one of France's classic dishes. The golden snails we went to eat today, L'Escargot, is the most famous grilled snail restaurant in France. It is said to be a century-old restaurant and is very close to the Louvre. After visiting the Louvre, come and make a pilgrimage~
Just look up and see the big golden snail!
As soon as we entered the restaurant, a large golden snail appeared immediately (there were also little snails on it, so cute))
It's beautiful indoors, but quite crowded. It would be more comfortable if you could do it outdoors, and it would be even more beautiful~
The dessert cabinet at the door contains the desserts of the day, and they all look delicious.
The sink in the toilet is beautiful
The menu is in English. The snails here are very large. Unlike other restaurants where most of the snails only have pesto sauce, there are many flavors to choose from.
Favido mineral water Vittel (10€) and Edelweiss draft beer 50cl (12€)
I rarely drink Edelweiss draft beer. It has a slight fruity aroma and tastes refreshing and smooth. I ordered Vittel mineral water by accident XD. The waiter asked us if we wanted still water or sparklin water. We were stupid. I stupidly thought that still water was free tap water, but I didn’t expect that a bottle of tap water costs 10 euros! It’s just water for one class~~ It’s so expensive, why not order a draft beer~~ But after I checked it out after I got home, I found out that Vittel mineral water is Many Michelin restaurants have designated water. When I saw the Michelin designation, I suddenly felt that it was particularly sweet and delicious in retrospect😆
Homemade duck leg confit (27€)
Confit duck is also a famous French dish. "Confit" is a traditional method of preserving meat in France. After the meat is marinated, it is soaked in its own fat to block the air to achieve the effect of preserving freshness, and then slowly roasted. . The duck meat here is quite tender, but a bit salty and doesn’t have a special marinated taste, and the sauce underneath doesn’t add any extra points. After eating it, we concluded that the roast duck in the BBQ bento is better XD
Traditional french onion soup (13€)
There is also a small cup of cheese sticks next to the onion soup. You can adjust it yourself and add it to the soup to drink together.
The outer layer of puff pastry is crispy, and the inside is clear soup. I think it is very refreshing and delicious, especially the onion soup from the most famous Café de Flore, which I have tasted before. In comparison, this one is a complete win.
Mixed snails 12 pieces (36€)
There are three flavors in total (traditional, cheese&walnuts, and truffle). The truffle flavor is very strong and goes well with snails, but I still like the traditional pesto flavor the most. The basil and garlic taste so fragrant~
Snails taste very similar to snails, but have more meat. The toasted bread sticks attached on the side are soft (lucky he was so bad in the exam🤣) and are delicious when dipped in sauce
Although there are many restaurants selling grilled snails in France, the golden snail is really a classic representative. It is recommended to try it.
